‘St Brendan’s School Community promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children in accordance with Ministerial Order No. 870.’
St Brendan’s School Community promotes the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all children in accordance with Ministerial Order No. 1359. St Brendan’s School is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students and young people. This commitment is grounded in the teachings and mission of Jesus Christ, with love, justice, and the dignity of every person at the heart of the Gospel (CECV Commitment Statement to Child Safety). The school upholds and embeds the Child Safety Code of Conduct (5.0) across all aspects of school life. All staff, students, volunteers, and board members are aware of their responsibilities in maintaining a safe environment. This policy is regularly reviewed to ensure it remains current and is reflected in all relevant policies and procedures. In line with the Victorian Government’s Ministerial Order No. 1359, St Brendan’s School is committed to the 11 Child Safe Standards and maintains a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse. To support this, the school has developed and actively enforces a comprehensive Child Safety Strategy, including clear policies, procedures, and processes that ensure anyone engaged in child-connected work understands and upholds their duty of care to protect all children.
