Education in Faith (Religious Education)
In Religious Education at St Brendan’s, we aim to nurture in our students a deep appreciation of the richness of the Catholic tradition. We encourage openness to questioning, reflection and interpretation as students explore faith in today’s world. Through this learning, students develop an awareness of diverse voices within our school and wider community, and are inspired to act with compassion for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.
We celebrate Mass as a whole school on the first Tuesday of each month during school terms, and warmly welcome families and parishioners to join us.
Sacramental Program
As Parishes in Partnership, St Brendan’s and Holy Rosary work together to support students as they prepare to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation. Through our Religious Education Program, all students learn about the sacraments of the Catholic Church.
Catholic families of baptised students are invited to enrol their children, should they wish, to participate in the sacramental celebrations at the following year levels:
Reconciliation: Year 3
First Eucharist: Year 4
Confirmation: Years 5–6 (every two years)
Students who are not enrolled to celebrate these sacraments are warmly encouraged to attend and participate in the celebrations, supporting their friends and the wider school community.
Families who are considering the Baptism of their child are invited to contact our Parish Priest, Fr Andrew Jekot (9412 8495), to arrange a time to discuss this further
